How to spend a wonderful Mother’s Day with your kids.

Want a sure-fire/first class/award-winning Mom experience for Mother’s Day? For you or for the Moms in your life?

Here’s what you do.

  • Take one really comfortable chair

  • Mix with an uninterrupted hour

  • Add one iPhone Photos Library

  • Gently swipe as needed

Nothing beats the experience of revisiting all the extraordinary MOMents with your kids, whether you are a brand new mom or your children are having kids of their own. The crazy times. The quiet times. The times without end. They came and went in a blink - except that you have them on your iPhone.

Here are a few wonderful ways to celebrate your MOMents.

People tagging is one of the handiest ways to fast forward to a particular child or family member. Once you identify all people you want to tag, Apple Photos scans old and new photos to add them to that person’s group. It's important, though, to check on each person from time to time because Apple Photos will find additional photos and want you to verify them. READ MORE HERE.

  • Now you can add captions to photos on the iPhone, so as you are checking out your tots in days of yore, take the opportunity to add a comment or two about the photo. It’s particularly handy for photos that were scanned or taken on a digital camera, when no description exists. You can even dictate the caption. Your comments stay with the photo and are searchable. • If you’ve never wandered into the For You tab, tucked between Library and Albums at the bottom of the screen, Mother’s Day is the perfect time to look at the Memories that Apple Photos created for you. Memories are a kind of assisted organizing which curates collections that Photos thinks you might like, and it’s amazing how delightful some of them are. They could be a fun vacation you hadn’t thought about in years, or a short retrospective of your family pets. If you find one you like, you can save it to a Favorite Memories collection and enjoy it whenever you want. READ MORE HERE.

  • And for a special treat, you can go to the Library tab and choose YEARS to see just where you were on Mother’s Days past. Years always shows a picture from this date (or closest to it) for each prior year. You can drill down by tapping Days (for a curated view - i.e. no screenshots or “reminder” shots) or All Photos for the day’s photos of whatever Year is in the center of the screen. READ MORE HERE.

The beauty of Apple Photos is that it is possible to have all your photos in one place and enjoy them any time you want. Of course you can always do a little organizing and clutter relief in the process, but that's a topic for another post. Enjoy, relax and rediscover the kids you love.

Happy Mother's Day.
