Location, Location, Location

Find your pictures in no time using the Places album in Apple Photos!

I’m a place guy. Truth be known, the Bluewater Imaging mission is inspired by the photos I’ve taken of cool places I’ve been. It speaks to the richness of life we all get through travel and experience and how important our photos are at keeping those feelings alive.

Places also happens to be a nifty way of locating pictures in your Apple Photos library. Because the iPhone has location tagging, you can easily use this to find a specific photo.

Let’s say I can’t remember which year we took a family trip to Anguilla (hard to believe, I know) and want to find those photos. Instead of swiping through 2 or 3 years of pictures in the Photos tab, I can choose the Albums tab in Apple Photos and scroll down to the Places collection.

Tapping on the Places collection brings up a map where you can find the location in seconds and zoom in - spread fingers - right down to the most detailed view.

Once you’ve found the place, you just tap on a thumbnail to see the pictures from that place.

Location, Location, Location . . .
